Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Oriens Shopify app and website (oriens.app). By installing the app or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Acceptable use
You may use Oriens to track price history, display compliance information, and send price drop alerts to customers who have explicitly opted in. You may not:
- Use Oriens to send unsolicited email or spam
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract Oriens source code
- Use the service in a way that violates Shopify's Partner Program Policies
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without written permission
- Use automated scraping or excessive API calls that degrade service for other users
2. Billing and refunds
Paid plans (Starter and Growth) are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time from within the Oriens app or by uninstalling the app
- No refunds are issued for partial months. You retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period
- Free trials are available for paid plans. You will not be charged until the trial period ends
- Prices may change with 30 days notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance
3. Data ownership
You own all data generated by your store and your customers. Oriens does not sell, share, or monetize your data. We process your data solely to deliver the service described in our Privacy Policy.
You may export all your price history data at any time in CSV format from the Oriens dashboard. This right is not affected by your plan tier.
4. Service availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance is performed during low-traffic periods and announced in advance when possible. We are not liable for downtime caused by Shopify's infrastructure, Cloudflare, or other third-party services.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oriens and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of revenue, profit, or business opportunity resulting from the use or inability to use the service
- Inaccuracies in pricing data caused by Shopify API delays or errors
- Regulatory fines or penalties — you are responsible for verifying that your use of Oriens satisfies your local legal requirements
Our total liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 3 months preceding the claim.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the service is error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose. The EU Omnibus compliance badge is a tool to help you display required pricing information — you are responsible for ensuring your compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
7. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which Oriens is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved under that jurisdiction's courts.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification with at least 14 days notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
